The Old Margreve
This is the regional map of the Old Margreve from Open Design’s world of Midgard. This ancient forest is the setting of Tales of the Old Margreve, a Pathfinder compatible adventure anthology and setting stuffed with nasty creatures and ancient evil. The anthology draws strongly on old Eastern European myths and legends to instill dark dread into anyone who thought forest were just about fairies and bunny rabbits. Those who don’t respect this forest don’t come out alive.
I had the pleasure of being asked to do the regional map for this, as well as the individual encounter maps for the 8 adventures inside. The adventures are written by a collection of different writers – all very talented – so the anthology has a great selection of different styles and ideas, but with a consistent overall theme.
